Something to do with math....

Hey bloggers,
In math, we've been learning on how to use a protractor. We have learned what an Acute, Obtuse, Right, Straight and Reflex angle is. An Acute is less than 90 degrees.
An Obtuse angle is more than 90 degrees but less than 180 degrees. An Right angle is equal to 90 degrees.
A straight angle is 180 degrees and a
Reflex angle is more than 180 degrees, but less than 360. It is always the largest angle.

On Thursday, 4 June we had to measure the first letter of our name. The teacher's ruled some lines on the letter C and I had to measure them. It was a create and share task.

Than on Monday and Tuesday we had to measure a dog made out of angles and we had to color coordinate each angle depending on what they were( Acute, Obtuse, Right, Straight and Reflex )
Than on Tuesday 9 June, we just had a work sheet with some angles that we had to measure.

On Thursday I wasn't here but I was told that the others had to draw their name out of angles and measure them.
On Monday again we had to measure some angles that the Miss Osborn gave us.

This week on Tuesday we  went over the work sheet from Monday and if there was a red circle with a question mark it meant that we got it wrong.

Then if we had fixed them or had non wrong, we could work on a wonky house made out of random angles we had to estimate the angles first and then measure them afterwards. ( We also had to color code them ) When we've done everything, we could do our Bricks.

And on Thursday we had to make a robot out of shapes and then after we made it, we would share it to Miss Osborn and then she would print it out and then we would have to measure 8 of the angles. This was also a create task.

 This is the wonky house.

And this is the C I had to measure

This is one of the work sheets

 And these are the angles.

This is the bricks front slide.

Adios my friends!

Its time to fracture Fairy tales.

For literacy, we're fracturing fairy tales. The fairy tale I'm fracturing is called Cinderella. I'm sure you've never heard about it. (I'm joking, I'm joking) Since I'm fracturing it, its going to have a new name; Cindy. I'm also going to change a few parts. Instead of dropping a shoe, she's going to drop a phone instead and wouldn't the glass slipper break when it hit's the ground, cause it's glass (Wait, wouldn't the phone break as well? Oops, I guess its time to get a new phone Cindy!)  Fairy God Mother? Nah that's getting old, Fairy God Siri is way better, its sorta modern but better than a fat, flying, old, Grandma! I also decided to turn the ball into a disco. And the prince gets dumped because Cindy doesn't have any time for a husband.

(This is Cindy BTW and she's wearing a nightgown)

Global Issues

My friends, there is always a time in life when things go wrong. This time its the globe itself. For Inquiry, this is one of the subjects that we're doing, Global issues. On Tuesday, we had to choose a picture that we wanted to do, so I choose a picture that said "A clean river is a fun river" Since my topic is Pollution, I thought that it had a clear meaning.

What can you see in this picture? I can see a thirsty and hungry orphan trying to get a drop of water. But the pipe is being held by some other person. If you look closer, the guy who is stopping the water is wearing a suit. The kid is wearing nothing. You can tell that the kid is poor, while the man is probably rolling in dough/money.

The pointed angles...

Kia ora blogger friends,

For numeracy today, we have started to learn about angles.

We learnt about 3 different angles today - acute (less than 90°), right angle (90°), and obtuse (larger than 90° but smaller than 180°).  We also learnt how to use a protractor to measure angles.  We know that we need to measure an angle from a vertice (a corner where two straight lines meet).

For our create task, we had to measure three different angles on the first letter of our name - can you  figure out if they are acute, right angle or obtuse?
